Hi, can you share a screenshot of both the settings on the expert advisor and of the page in the document please? Also an alternative way is to perform a backtest with 25, 250 and 2500 in this setting if there is any doubt.

Hi Alesamo, I agree with the flaws currently in the approach many take to the top 10 app. I have been trading EAS successfully for a good while now (See here for examples (https://platform.algotradingspace.com/forums/topic/many-prop-firm-challenges-passed-with-ea-studio/) and I also just received payout on a 100k FTMO funded account. ALL using EA Studio portfolios that I developed myself.

The top 10 app gets ALOT right but its approach also has flaws. Would you be open to trying a different approach than you are using? Also what other software do you have access to?

    Hi Mariano. Some additional questions so I can help better;

1- What is your trading experience?

2 – What kind of account are you trading this on (demo, live, broker etc)

3 – Have you compared any real time tradng results with the backtest.

I would always recommend trading with the lowest risk, and 1 or two weeks in trading is totally meaningless in my opinion as all strategies have drawdowns and stagnations much longer than this and that is normal

Hi, additionally for this issue. Are you able to show the error if you try to compile this in metaeditor please. Also showing the outputs on the expert tab would be helpful in resolving this issue too. If you are able to send the expert advisor to the academy email address also then that will help in properly resolving this.

It would be best to connect your account to FXBlue, that way you can easily view the statistics for different strategies and instruments including net profit. https://www.fxblue.com/ Just login in here, create and account and then install the publisher app on your terminal so that it reliably uploads your trading history to the website.

Mt5 will download the data when back testing and so you will be able to have a more than adequate amount of data. I would recommend back testing with full tick data base don real ticks and check that the % of real ticks quality is at least about 90%. If not then I would recommend importing quality tick data or back testing on a broker that has better quality data (Such as darwinex or dukascopy for example). For M5 and M15 5 years of data is ample in my opinion

Hi Brasov, this must be a backtesting error but you will need to show more information to be able to troubleshoot effectively. Can you show some screenshots so I can help further. Also are you testing on mt4 or mt5?

Hi, No that is a misunderstanding. 5ers allows multiple trades on different symbols and hedging is allowed also.

I would suggest that this inconistency is most likely user error to be honest. I would recommend that every time you get backtests that look good that you save both the backtest and the set file so that can revert back to see exactly what you did. One settings wrond could make a big difference. Failing that if you have saved just the backtest file then at the top of the file the parameters of the EA are provided, Dates, Bakctesting model etc so should be able to recreate. Backtesting results can change a very small amount due to live changes in swaps but should be very similar

    Hi,

Move the .mq5 files to the MQL5\Experts folder and they should then show in the Navigator ready to be installed on the charts when you open mt5. If they do not show then please open the metaeditor and select the files and try to complie manually. If there is an error then please send a screenshot and I can help you further. Cheers

HI Queentrader, I responded to a similar issue you were having here: https://platform.algotradingspace.com/forums/topic/21-day-program-errors-and-solutions/?view=all#post-457393

Can I ask what your experience in trading is? Happy to help but my feeling is that you are a beginner and in this case I suggest checking the following.

Check how your robots perform in the backtest, I would suggest that you will find thats there are many period in the overall profitable balance curve and many losing trades in a row.

4 bad trades is unfortunate but totally meaningless in trading which among many other things requires patience. Keep demo trading and give things more time is my recommendation for the timebeing.

If you share more information and show some backtest results i am happy to help you further 🙂

Hi QueenTrader, Do you have access to EA Studio or just the robots? I would suggest compering EA Studio back test results with Mt4 backtest initially (Can just import the mt4 robot back into EA Studio).

Make sure you backtest over a sufficient period of time (At least a couple of years and at least 100 trades). A couple of days results is completely meaningless for trading. You need sufficient time and number of trades made to assess if a robot is behaving as expected, and also a comparison with a properly done an accurate backtest.
