For your swing strategy you will need to using the trailing stop loss, and you will need to find a combination of indicators that is good at confirming a retracement.

If you don’t have indicators in mind then I guess you could generate some and look at the charts to see when trades are opened and if they align with retracements.

I think better to do this manually likely in the editor though and play with indicators and parameters to see if you can match this to the market you are interested in.

Fsbpro could be useful if you find yourself wanting to use indicators not available in EA Studio

Hi, typically short only are pretty risk since there’s no actual limit to the losses I guess. It wouldn’t be that useful, some markets have a long bias generally such as gold but why trade a market with a short bias?

The opposite entry signal is used if you have an open position it will either ignore this and maintain the original position and wait for tp/sl or close OR if its reverse then it will close the position and open the opposite position (so long if was short for example).

That’s interesting, cant say I have had any problems. Are you able to send a screen shot of the trade history with the high swaps shown please? There must be a reason. You can even send this off to Blackbull and question them as to why the swap was so high, they are regulated and will investigate for you.

Hi Alesamo, that is very strange. Have you tried backtesting this on each of the two different brokers? Can you share your set file and what version of the FGI you are using (and is it mt4 or mt5) and I can investigate why this might be?

Hi, What happened to your first challenge? Have you proved any kind of demo or small live results consistency before you are buying a 100k prop?

Also how long have you been trading.

My recommended approach is to select EAs according to equity curves and number of OOS trades and then monitor their performance regularly (1x a week should be plenty) and only remove an EA from trading if it exceeds it worst drawdown in the backtest. FXblue makes this easy. If you need more guidance let me know 🙂

Hi Marc, place this into the MQL4\Experts folder, then just opne metatrader and drag the EA onto the appropriate chart. Of course set the lot size appropriate to your account and risk. Cheers

Hi Saycs Paul, if you are new then demo trading is ALWAYS recommended. You could trade on a small live account with the smallest lot size if you absolutely must live trade. Going straight from back testing to live is not recommended for beginners, too much can go wrong and there is lots to learn and experience to be gained.

Hi Stanislav, can run a quick test for me and confirm the results please.

1 – Download a small amount of recent data using 1 timezone

2- Download the same data with the timezone changed

3 – Compare the textfiles in notepad++ (or something similar) and confirm that the files are in fact identical?

Or please confirm that this is what you have actually done and let me know what asset, timframe and timezone you used so I can look into this.

    Cheers,

    Sam

Note how closely the equity moves with balance line too here. Nice relaxed way to trade.

Hi Ernst, this can happen but it should be rare and there are actually some BIG improvements in the backend on the APPs currently being undertaken to ensure that the open price backtesting more closely matches tick testing.

Can you please send me an example EA and the difference in the results you are getting and I will look into this for you and double check your result with my own full tick backtesting please?

I can help you get to the bottom of whats going on and turn things around no problem 🙂
