    Hey David,

You are welcome, mate. Well to be honest with you the recent one year I am not using VPS anymore. We have placed it all on local computers.

First of all in long term it is cheaper(paying Forex VPS each month will cost a new computer after 2-3 years). Second, I prefer to have control over it. I do not want to bother about having my strategies, Meta Traders, and basically money in another company servers. But that is me…

Now, recently we were using Contabo (please do not take it as recommendation, just to make it easier for you) and there the basic plan with SSD, four cores and 8 GB as far as I remember was enough to run 2-3 Meta Traders with many Expert Advisors into, even with 99 EA. I hope that makes it clearer.

Have a great weekend too! Do not hesitate to drop me any other questions.

    Kind regards,

    Hey Jacpin,

you will see with the time when you get used with it, you will learn to skip the Demo testing. Simply, your experience will show you which strategies you can test straight on live.

One of the interesting methods I showed in some of my courses is by removing the recent 1 month. In EA studio you have the option to set the Data horizon. For example if you are running the Reactor today on 1st oF December, you can set the end date to be 1st of Nov. After you select the strategies from the collection just as normal as you do it daily, you can change the date back to 1st of December. What you will do is just to remove the last one month from your Historical data, and than put it back.

This way you will see clear performance of the strategies for the last month, but instead of waiting one month you will do it for couple of minutes.

Of course in the courses I always teach the students to go first on Demo because this is the safer way.

    Good point here Andi!

It is really a common mistake that traders trade one and the same strategy, with the same parameters on different currency pairs.

Simply, if you run a back test on one and the same strategy on different pairs, you will see that it shows different results. And most of the time it will work with the pair that we used in the generation of the strategies, and the other currency pairs will show losses even. That is where the Multi Markets tool come very useful.

    Hey Jacpin,

I am happy to see your answer. It makes it very interesting to see that with Gas you can have quick profits(on small moves) I will look at it on Monday.

How did you get so much of Historical data? I barely have 2 years on M15 charts…

Yes, you are right, the more time and work we place into it, the more profits are coming(the last month I was busy with my family, that is why not such good results where there).

in reply to: Best time frames to use for day trading #7240

Well, you can always give it a try and see how it goes. At the end of the day you are always going first on Demo, so nothing to lose.

As I have showed in my recent course the Top 10 USDJPY Expert Advisors, I use M5 but if only I place Longer time frames filters as M30 and H1.

So this way I filter the entries and leave only the strong ones.

in reply to: How far back to optimize an EA? #7233

Glad to hear it makes sense. Of course I always suggest the traders to test and test, and test. What I mean is that you can give it a try optimizing them more often. But specially if you see current profits, the optimizer will not show any better results from the last optimization or the original generation process.

Also, keep in mind that the optimization is a bit risky. What the optimize simply does is to find the best parameters for your strategy BUT only for the tested period. Not outside of it. There is no guarantee that these parameters would work as expected in the future. That is where the robustness tests come in hand.

Just try to make is more simple, and you will do better.

    Cheers

This is so nice to see such results with other traders. I am pretty new to EA Studio. Well, actually I tested it nearly year ago, but was a bit skeptical. After losing some money on live account trying to trade manually and predict the future in the market, i went back to Petko’s courses. I did realize that I need the EA Studio, and to work harder on it.

Now I have taken 2 more of his courses, the lifetime license for EA Studio, and when I saw this topic it gave me some more enthusiasm, but for sure I will take it easy with the lice trading. The loss still hurts 🙂 Thank you all for sharing! Impressive!

in reply to: How many assets and/or EAs are you trading with? #7226

WOW! Nice to see this topic, That is a question I am thinking about nearly every day. I have changed my portfolio like 100s times, and still can not get on live.

If some of you can give me an idea how to make it more simple it will be great.

I started with EURUSD…like 10 EAs as Petko shows in the course. But then when I got more of his courses I saw that he uses many other currencies. So than I did the stupid mistake to create 10 different portfolios and all were with the EUR. Simply I Wanted to have 10 different portfolios with 10 different EAs. And I did like EURUSD,EURGBP,EURJPY,EURAUD..etc. Obviously one day the eur felt like a stone, I think it was somewhere on 12th this month. Most of my positions were buys, and I saw a massive loss. I wrote to Petko, and he said that I made the mistake to put a lot of exposure on EUR.

So now I try to restart and make a good diversification, and if you can give me some starting point will be much appreciated!

    Hey Jacpin,

Getting addicted to the forum, and learning more…thanks for sharing your experience!

At the end of the day you are trading different strategies and Expert Advisors with the GBP, so you are having the diversification there.

As well I do believe you have SL with your EAs, so even something dramatic happens there, it will be one losing trade.

I have never tried the Gas and Oil, I will think of testing those. To be honest I copy the trading currencies from Petko, as I see he has great experience in trading, and he found out that these work the best for him. Of course I do realize that if they work for him, it does not necessarily mean that that these EAs will work for me too. And yes, the experience is quite important I do believe.

Wow 70% is huge! At first I started with the logic that anything above is 50% is good enough to be traded, and then I went up to 60%. Recently I use more the Profit factor of min 1,2.

Yes, I spent as well nearly all my free time in creating EAs and testing them. I started in June I do believe…and I September I am live with 10 EAs. Nov was not really my month but the previous two were great. So you thumbs up! You are going much faster.

in reply to: How far back to optimize an EA? #7224

You are very welcome! It makes me extremely happy when I hear that people who watched my courses start to make profit.

Recently I received many questions, why I do not provide signals, or some kind of trade copier. The answer is simply – I want to build traders and not copiers.

It is easy to do it, but when I am gone one day, the traders will be frustrated, and they will need another place to copy from.

But when you are build as a trader, have the skills and the knowledge, you will succeed to continue trading, building EAs and be successful. That is what I want to achieve with the students.

Yes, that is exactly what I wanted to say. If it is working, simply do not touch it. When it starts to lose, than you will look for solution. But with EA Studio the solution is easy – replace with new EA that you have already tested.

Now the optimization normally is needed when you use Expert Advisors from 3rd place with different broker.

Glad to see you opened new topic, and share more of your experience.

I am sure more of the traders will start to share trading ideas which would be great.

Just a quick tip from me here, try not to look for more active trading but for more efficient. What you are doing so far is good, and even you have 4,7 traders per day if they bring you good profit, that is just fine. The more you go to the lower time frames, the more spread you will pay.

in reply to: Forex VPS Setup to use 99 EAs #7208

No, I have not traded with them. May be some of the other students can share experience.

Please, just do not place link for any brokers, anyway we will remove the post.

It is good to have discussion, as I always aim to protect the traders from the Scam brokers, but in the same time I do not want to promote any of the brokers.

in reply to: How many assets and/or EAs are you trading with? #7199

That sounds like really nice approach and good stable results.

Last month I ended with above 1000 pips but trading with 0.01. I am somehow afraid to trade with 0.1, may be just because my live account is small. Anyway I am very happy I met Petko, and learned all from him. His advises are treasure!

Regarding the 3 EAs, I would suggest you to make a better diversification when choosing the currency pair. In this case you have 2 times the GBP, so you are putting bigger exposure on it. Simply, if there is some dramatic move around the Brexit now, you might see some unstable results, but they could be profits too 🙂

How long time have you been testing the EAs on Demo account? I am using Petko’s method on min 100 pips and 10 trades opened and closed.

in reply to: Updates in the courses #7192

I am hungry for the new Updates! :)))

since this topic was opened with a very nice idea of Petko, to share strategies and Expert Advisors, I decided to share one strategy
