ParticipantHi Samuel, a ‘short-only’ strategy might be considered less risky when the market is bearish (for example, with BTC). Purely for educational purposes, how would one create a short-only signal?

ParticipantHi there,
I hope you can assist me with a few questions regarding EA Studio.
1. I’ve noticed that EA Studio doesn’t seem to offer a “short only” strategy option. Since CFDs support short positions, I was wondering if there’s a specific reason for this or if I’m overlooking something.
2. Could you please explain how to effectively use the “Opposite Entry Signal” feature?
3. I’m interested in creating an EA for swing trading. My goal is to develop a strategy that continuously moves the stop loss higher as the price increases, until a retracement occurs. Could you provide guidance on how to implement this within EA Studio?

ParticipantHi Petko,
I try to read through this forum and it benefits me to stay away from the scam brokers. However, how do we identify trusted brokers turn to scam brokers?
How do we know they purposely delay our trade or change our SL and etc?

Simon

ParticipantHi Petko,
Just realize that JFD is no longer on the trusted broker page. May I know why?

ParticipantHi Petko,
I can’t start a new thread. I think this is an issue other people encounter as well. Anyway, I have tried JFD demo but it seems that the M15 chart on MT4 only supports up to 1.5 months. It’s too low to generate a robust strategy. Is that a common issue? Need some advice.

ParticipantI just use strategy tester to test out both demo and real account data. The result is just not tally. I think I can switch the broker already.

ParticipantHi Petko,
I put the demo and real acc in the same VPS to compare it side by side. It seems that not every trade are sync. How do I prove that the broker delays the trade or it simply VPS connection issue? I’m currently using XM.com as my broker.

ParticipantHi Petko,
I have test EA via VPS using demo top 10 and real account top 10. The among 10 trades 8 have similar entry points except 2 trades have delay trades of 45 minutes (compare demo and real account). Does it normal to have this kind of difference?

ParticipantHi Petko,
Personally I have the same thought as well. However, do you have advice when should we increase/decrease lot size? I’m currently struggling on this matter.

ParticipantHi Petko,
I’m creating the top 100 demos by myself via the reactor (I’m only using M15 so far with 2-3 years data). I’m getting confused when other students in the forum mentioned that they keep generating new strategy.

ParticipantHi Petko,
What I mean is how many percents are you risking at one time? For example, you have $10000 to invest. How many percents you willing to lose if all EA hit the SL? I understand the rule of thumb that we should we 2% but I want to know your personal risk-taking to set some expectation.

ParticipantHi Petko,
Your expected profit is 50% per month. May I know how many percent of capital you invest to reach that amount of profit?
Also, may I know what is your drawdown? Can you maintain profit every month?
I starting to lose some capital but I think mainly because I didn’t change the EA. Wanted to set some reasonable expectation here.

ParticipantHi Petko,
Yes, what I meant is for live account. The list (top 10) will keep changing, but my EA in live account (drawdown still below 10%). Should I keep changing according to the top list? In what frequency should I change it?
